I've been knitting on and off today, between sleeping. I'm so tired and I just can't wake up. I've been like this all day and I have a feeling I know what's causing it.

I've done a few rows on the baby blanket. I can only work on it so long before I get tired of counting. And with as sleepy as I've been today, I don't want to risk messing up somewhere.

I'm just a few rows over half way done with the scarf using the Matrix Web Wines. I love how it's turning out.

I've put a few rows into the Bermuda Sun scarf also.

No one project is holding my attention that much right now, so why not get a bit done on a few projects?

The Blog Update You've Been Waiting For!

Here it is, the big picture update (at least I hope so as the pictures didn't want to work last time I tried to post one...)

So, this stuff is in no particular order....

I have someone special who will occasionally be making appearances as a model here on the blog. It's none other than Harry Potter. Okay, so it's just a cardboard cut out of Harry Potter....But he doesn't complain about anything, so what could possibly be better?

Ah, and the lovely flash that you can see off of Harry!

Here is Harry modeling a scarf. Although you can't really tell.

And a close up of the yarn used to make the scarf he's wearing...

It was done using Moda Dea's Frivolous in Nightlife.

And once again, here's Harry modeling a hat and a bag that I recently made...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Both are made out of some Bernat acrylic and a yarn called Playful in Bermuda Sun purchased at Hobby Lobby (it was some of the $1.77 yarn I got.).

And close ups of both....

These are the sock yarn arm warmers I made using Plymouth Yarn's Sockotta. This is the second pair that I made. I used this pattern but made the thumbs a bit longer.

These are two of the hats I've made out of Patons Twister. One is Fruit Loops and the other is Zebra Twist...

I made these gauntlets out of this book (so informative, I know!). There are a lot of patterns I like in Knit.101 book. It's a book that I really need to order for my collection!

And a close of of the pattern....

The pattern calls for Lion Brand Microspun. I'm going to make a pair in white and a pair in black too.

And now for the green and white baby blanket, which did turn out square shaped this time. I really like it.

This is a hat I made a while ago using Yarn Bee Whirligig in Sunny Side.

That's it for finished knitting projects, so now onto the UFOs!

Not a very good picture, I'm aware. This scarf is being made using Bernat Matrix in Web Wines. I'm using size 8 bamboo needles and 22 stitches across.

This is the scarf I'm making to match the Bermuda Sun (as the yarn color is called) hat and bag. I'm using size 9 bamboo needles and 20 stitches across.

I've started one of my other baby blankets. This one I need to have done by sometime in September. It's a diamond pattern from Fiber Trends. I'm using Bernat acrylic that's incredibly soft.

This is what I have done of it so far.....

And this is a close up of the diamonds, although I don't really think that you can see them that well....

This is the Fun Fur Cuffed scarf that I'm working on (as I finally found it. Yay!) I think that the acrylic is Red Heart, and then Lion Brand Fun Fur Stripes in Cotton Candy.

So, I think that's everything for now. I hope that you've all enjoyed the massive update and the pictures that I've been promising forever. More soon!

Yes, I'm Still Alive!

Well, I got through Harry Potter and the Death Hallows on Sunday. And what did I do after I was done with it?

I started knitting again!

I've got some good news. I've finished a couple of projects. I've got some bad news. I've started more new projects.

But the best news of all? I have pictures!

Which I would gladly post right now if I didn't have to be up in a few hours and really need to get some sleep.

Depending on how tomorrow goes (I'll be doing a lot of driving....literally half the state of Indiana and back up part of it....) and how awake I am when I get home, I'll post the pictures. But they are in my Photobucket account, so they are there.

Okay, just wanted to put an update in. Till tomorrow (or later today I guess, as it's just after 2 in the morning....)

Not Much Knitting News

There's not really much news from my end.

I've started the bag that I wanted to make, and a hat. I haven't finished anymore projects though and my WIPs list seems to ever be growing (there are more projects that aren't listed over there!).

I tried to make it a good solid week without the purchase of any yarn. I cracked though. Okay, so it was just one skien to make a hat out of... The only problem was that I never even exibited any self-control.

There probably won't be many updates in the next few days as I'll be reading the 7th and final Harry Potter book. My knitting needles will probably welcome the break!

The Joy of FOs!

So much for posting yesterday. I do have a valid excuse though...

I finished the green/white baby blanket! Even better - it's a square this time! I have no idea how many hours I put into that thing yesterday. I think I was at Danner's for around four hours (was I really there that long?) working on the thing pretty much non stop. And then I came home and figured I'd try to finish it off. I have no idea how many more hours I put in here. And I mean hours. I feel like such a slow knitter when I think about how many hours I put into a simple baby blanket.

Or the giant dishcloth as it was nicknamed!

I've also just finished up the last of the seven scarves for Christmas. So my mom's friends are done. And way on time at that. I'm amazed at myself. Well, at least I will be once I locate two of the scarves. I thought I gave them to mom already but she says she doesn't have them...

I feel so good that I got this stuff done. But there's still so much I have to do for gifts! I can't find the pattern for the next baby blanket. It's...somewhere in my room. I guess that I should go look for it and then start the next blanket tomorrow or Sunday.

I also picked up some yarn today for a project that I've been dying to make. The yarn was only $0.75! How amazing is that?!

Tomorrow is a trip to the Children's Museum in Indy with a friend. It's a good break that I really need right now.

HP and the OoTP & Knitting Group

So, I went to see the movie today and I thought it was fantastic! I'm so glad that I went to see it today because today ended up being a lot more....unpredictable that I ever thought it would get. Expect the unexpected, right?

I worked on the baby blanket at knitting group tonight. I love that it's decreasing so quickly. I'm hoping that I'll have it done in the next week. I'm trying to hold off working on any other knitting project just so I can get this one done. I'm becoming sick of looking at the yarn.

I also found some "Handmade By" tags to stitch onto the gifts that I'm making. My aunt got them specially made for me ages ago. At least now they can be of actual use to me!

I'm off to get things done for tomorrow that I didn't expect to have to have done. In fact, I don't really even know if I have to have them done... Better to do it now and have it done just in case. It's not like I won't need the stuff later.

And I was going to post a picture of my cat who decided to play with a hat but I'm having difficulties posting a picture. It must just be the day. Tomorrow will be better.

Non Knitting News

Not that this is overwhelming important news but....

I just got my ticket to see the newest Harry Potter movie.

I mean, what could be better than seeing a movie and then going to knitting group afterwards?

A Month Old Already!

I can't believe that my blog is a month old already. I think it's safe to say that if I've posted at least once a week for a month, I'll keep up with this. Happy month old birthday to my blog!

Charity knitting tonight at YLS. I got another square done for the blankets. I'm very proud to have made seven of the squares. I'm getting rather bored of the simplicity of my squares though. I may have to give into knitting a swatch and doing a stitch pattern. Yet, it doesn't take me long at all to complete a square like the ones I'm making now.

The green/white baby blanket is coming along well. I've finally started on the decreases last week I think. It's not taking me forever to knit a single row! And this time it's looking square shaped.

I've come to realize that there's a reason why I haven't posted pictures yet. But rest assured, there will be pictures when I get my act together. Which will be by the end of the week. Even if it means me working on it while at one of my knitting groups so that someone there can prod me to get them up.

I'm so excited to be accepted to some of my blog rings already. Thanks!

~~~
I started typing this up a half-hour ago and apparently got distracted by something. I don't remember what distracted me and why it distracted me. Scary...
Why You Should Always Have a Knitting Project With You
Many knitters tend to keep a small project with them all the time. I'm one of those kinds of knitters. There's a very good reason for this.
Traffic. The kind of traffic you don't expect and it takes you over an hour to move 5 miles down a stretch of interstate. Then you get in even more stop and go traffic and you wonder if there's an end in sight.
I've sat in traffic before and thought, "Why don't I have that knitting project with me? I could be getting something done!"
Now I rarely leave the house without my knitting basket in one hand or something that I've just left in the car for such times as sitting in traffic (or something that I don't know that's in my car that I've happened upon. My car can get a bit messy!)
Friday night (okay, so really it was Saturday morning as it was after midnight...) I'm driving and while expecting some traffic due to nighttime road work I have no idea what I'm about to get into. The traffic was insane! So as I'm sitting there wondering how long it's going to take for me to get home, I realize that I have knitting needles and yarn in my bag and that I might as well fuss over this scarf that I've been trying to knit (refer to the post about me not being able to get a yo, k2t pattern right). While I'm sitting in traffic I decide to try to knit it up one way and then another and then another (still accomplishing nothing). But having that there kept my sanity and eventually I did manage to make it home.
In other news - I've added a link to my LYS on the sidebar on the left. Click on the link and check out the shop!
I'm off to charge up the digital camera and then I'll have some pictures to share!
Blog Rings!
I can't add a title. I'm not sure what's up with that.
And now apparently I can.
I've been adding blog rings, but I think I might have mistyped my e-mail address for one or two of them! *screams* That's what I get for a long e-mail address.....
So, I guess that I'll wait and see what blog rings go through and which ones don't and then just resubmit.
I have actually been doing some knitting. I just haven't managed to stick with any one project long enough to justify being able to say I got something on it done!
I've put up a new skin (obviously!), so I'll be putting up everything here in the next day or two that was along the side. Or maybe I'll just change things!
I've Completely Lost My Vibe
For some reason I'm finding it difficult to work a simple yo, k2t pattern for a scarf. I just can't get it to work out!
So I found this other scarf I started on ages ago (that I had forgotten about) because it was in the same pattern I wanted to do this one in. This scarf was part way knitted and had slipped off the needles. It's also very furry yarn and with many attempts to put it back on the needles, I was unsuccessful. As I frogged the scarf I tried to figure out how I had made the simple pattern.
I can't figure it out!
But in better knitting news...
I knitted up my sock yarn arm warmers in record time!
I know that I keep promising pictures and I will have some posted soon.
